Golf Gear Lab quick answer
How much does a home golf simulator cost in the ?
A useful home setup can start for practice with a launch monitor, mat and net. A more complete projected simulator is commonly a several-thousand-pound project, while a dedicated premium room can exceed and reach+. Budget for the whole system rather than the launch monitor alone.
Basic practice:
Entry simulator:
Mid-range dedicated studio:
Premium room:+, especially with installation and room finishing.

What does a complete golf simulator budget include?
Separate a practice bay from a projected simulator. The following baskets are illustrative planning allowances, not checked retailer offers. They show why a launch-monitor price alone is not the cost of a complete room.
Component
Square-based net practice
Square-based projected room
Launch monitor
Hitting mat
Net / enclosure and screen
Projector and mounting
— use existing compatible display
Device / PC
— existing compatible device assumed
— allowance for the selected software, not every platform
Protection, cables and accessories
Initial equipment subtotal
Both examples exclude building work, paid installation, heating, software charges and replacement consumables. Allow another 10–15% equipment contingency: for the practice example or for the projected example. Replace every allowance with an actual compatible-item quotation before ordering.
Calculate three years of use
Three-year total = equipment + installation/room work + required software over 36 months + optional credits + expected replacements. Count only the software route you intend to use; do not add every alternative subscription together.
For example, a annual licence adds across three paid years. With the first year genuinely included, two renewals add if the rate remains unchanged. This is an arithmetic example, not a quoted licence fee.
Costs most often left out
Club markers, marked balls, protective cases and hitting-strip replacements.
A PC that meets the exact software requirements, Ethernet adapters and cable routing.
Screen stand-off, side protection, projector mounting and delivery.
Electrical work, insulation, damp treatment and running the garage comfortably.
Membership renewal after an introductory trial or included year.
For an Eye Mini Lite build, quote the PC against Uneekor’s current requirements before assuming a generic allowance is enough. For an R50 Home Tee Hero route, a separate simulator PC may be unnecessary, but the active membership and room equipment remain costs.

How much does a golf simulator cost in the ?
By Golf Gear Lab · Source research updated 30 August 2026
A useful home golf simulator can cost for a basic practice setup to more than for a professionally finished room. The right budget depends on whether you need practice feedback, projected simulation or a permanent studio.
Indicative budgets checked July 2026. Hardware, installation and subscription prices can change.
Typical budget levels
Basic practice: — launch monitor, mat and net, using an existing phone or tablet.
Entry simulator: — improved hitting area and a net or basic screen setup.
Mid-range studio: — dedicated screen, projector, enclosure and capable computer.
Premium room:+ — premium tracking, custom installation and room finishing.
Basic practice:
A basic setup can combine an affordable launch monitor, hitting mat and net, using a tablet or existing display. This is the lowest-cost route if simulation is secondary to practice.
Entry simulator:
This level improves the mat and hitting area and may introduce a screen, but buyers often still use an existing display. Prioritise reliable launch data and a safe hitting area before cosmetic upgrades.
Mid-range studio:
A dedicated impact screen, suitable projector and more permanent hitting area create the biggest jump in immersion. Budget carefully for projector throw distance and screen dimensions before buying either component.
Premium room:+
Premium builds add higher-end launch-monitor hardware, custom enclosures, powerful PCs, better turf and room finishing. Installation and room preparation can become material costs.
Ongoing and easily missed costs
Software: allow roughly, depending on platform and course access.
Computer: if a suitable gaming PC is not already available.
Installation: from a few hundred pounds to several thousand for a finished room.
Consumables: screens, hitting strips and projector parts eventually need replacement.
Build in the right order
Measure the room first, choose the launch monitor second, then specify the projector, screen, enclosure and software around those constraints. See our room-size guide.
Measure the room, choose the launch monitor, then size the projector, screen and enclosure around those constraints. This avoids expensive compatibility mistakes.
Budget for the software route you will actually use
Separate the initial room cost from ongoing use. Your initial budget includes the monitor, hitting surface, ball containment, display and any computer. Your recurring budget includes required manufacturer memberships, simulator software and optional course credits.
For a three-year plan, use: initial equipment + required memberships over three years + chosen software over three years + expected optional credits. Keep an allowance for replacement balls and wear separately. Do not add subscriptions for alternative packages you do not intend to use.
A Garmin owner choosing Awesome Golf does not also need Garmin Golf membership for that connection. A GSPro setup needs a Windows PC; moving from a tablet route to GSPro can therefore change the initial equipment budget as well as the annual fee. Check compatibility before ordering the computer.
